A piece of chocolate goodness

Sometime last week my grandma stumbled upon this recipe in the newspaper and wanted to make these. She did not have the ingredients to do so. Thank you Grandma for sharing this recipe. Last Friday to be exact my mother made these I know your probably thinking why didn't I make them. I wasn't in the mood last weekend to bake anything and I thought I would share this yummy recipe.
It is called Crispy Rice Treat Brownies
3 cups mini marshmallows
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 cups rice krispies
9-by-9-inch pan brownies, baked and cooled in the pan
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's
In a medium microwave-safe bowl, combine the mini marshmallows, butter and peanut butter. Heat on high in 30-second bursts, stiring between, until melted and smooth. Stir in the rice krispies.
Using oiled or damp hands, press the cereal mixture over the top of the cooled brownies, forming it into an even layer. Set aside to cool.
Meanwhile, to make the ganache, in a small saucepan over medium-low, bring the cream to a simmer. Add the chocolate chips and let set for 1 minute. Using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon, stir the cream and chocolate until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Pour the ganache over the rice treat layer and spread to the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with M&M's. Let cool until the chocolate is set before cutting. Wrap tightly or store in an airtight container. Makes 16 servings.
I know it is a little chocolately but it is really good! Enjoy!
In other news I passed my classes..yay! Last weekend Tk graduated college and it was bittersweet. Maybe one day I will graduate..hopefully! Also last weekend I got a sore throat which lead to a cold and already have used two kleenex boxes up. Yes, I still managed to go to work even if I didn't want to. Tomorrow I go see the doctor about some things. I will write more later on that subject.
